"Cat Ryan is the musical creation of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mary-Anne Murphy alongside band mates Jake (lead guitar), Charlie (drums) and Dan (bass/keys). The band made a distinctive & lasting impression on their home city of Newcastle upon Tyne when they released their debut single ‘Mannerism’ in March 2020.
The band’s unique brand of Art-Rock/Indie-Pop, influenced by the likes of Vampire Weekend and Hippo Campus has earned them acclaim, featuring on BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 and Radio X, and has seen them grace the main stage at Y Not Festival, as well as play Truck Festival, Bingley Weekender, Belladrum Festival, and others, as well as - more recently - support Sundara Karma at their sold out Newcastle show.
